Have a Blast at Farm Fest This Weekend

Fall is knocking at the door and that means one thing for residents of North Oaks.  It is time for the Hill Farm Historical Society’s annual Farm Fest at the Red Barn along with all of the fun activities for the kids.  This Saturday, September 8th, from 3:00-7:00pm, everyone can enjoy the petting zoo, pony rides, the blacksmith shop, the making of butter and a wide variety of games.  And do not forget all of the adult fun.  Come out and participate in the silent auction, catch up with old friends and neighbors or enjoy a cold beverage and brat.

The Hill Farm Historical Society preserves James J. Hill’s farm located in the community of North Oaks.  Hill, an 1883 railroad industrialist, purchased 3,300 acres of land and used the land to raise cattle.  Today, the Hill Farm Historical Society preserves his legacy on five acres that includes a dairy, blacksmith shop and that signature “red barn”.  All buildings are on the Register of Historic Places and can be toured by appointment.
