When should I bring in my child for their first visit?

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists it is recommended that a child’s first dental visit should be between the eruption of the first tooth and the child’s first birthday.  At Serene Oaks Dental, we have found that children at the age of 3 seem to have a wonderful first visit to the dentist.  They are at an age when they are able to listen and understand what you need from them in order to have a fun and productive dental visit.  Children under the age of 3 should of course be seen sooner if there is suspicion of anything that looks abnormal or child is experiencing pain. We like to at least take a look and count their teeth, polish and place “tooth vitamins” or Fluoride on their teeth as well as discuss with them and the parents their diet and home care regiment. Call us today to set up your child’s first dental visit and to establish a dental home!
